The La Quinta High School Instrumental Program is one of the top-rated programs in California and a standout in the Garden Grove Unified School District. Our Marching Aztecs are consistent state finalists, and our award-winning Concert Band and Orchestra continue to lead the way, most recently earning top-tier ratings at festival. With high-achieving Indoor Percussion and Winter Guard teams competing in SCPA and WGASC, we offer something for every performer. We’re all about hard work, great music, and a community that strives for excellence in everything we do.

Mandatory Summer Band Camp
Requirement for Program Admission. To be part of the program, all members—including percussion and color guard—must attend Summer Band Camp in full.
📅 Attendance Policy

Who: Every instrument, every section.

When: Every day, no exceptions. (Contact Mr. Lam for special circumstances)

Why: We begin performances and competitions immediately after the school year starts. We use this time to learn the show and prep for the season.
⚠️ Important Note
Attendance isn't just encouraged—it is mandatory for admission into the program. If you aren't at camp, we cannot include you in the performance rosters for the fall.

All instrumental parents are welcome to come help and support their kids along their music journey. Our Aztec Booster Club has one of the the most kind and respectful group of people, helping kids follow their passion.
